eCOGRA Accredits Spin3 MobileBy: Fabian Rictor, Friday June 5th 20091 Comment Email Print In a press release from London the reputed independent online gaming auditor eCOGRA announced that Spin3 had become the first specialized mobile gambling provider to earn its software accreditation seal. Before confirming the accreditation eCOGRA had conducted comprehensive tests on Spin3's software and had inspected Spin3's onsite operating systems. The auditors from eCOGRA's compliance division had then certified that Spin3's development, implementation, maintenance and security of mobile games portfolio and back-office systems confirmed to eCOGRA's best practice standards applicable to software suppliers. Since 2003 eCOGRA's "Safe and Fair" seal of approval is considered a hallmark of the best gaming operations by the online player community and the seal is much sought after by gaming operators and service providers alike. Andrew Beveridge, CEO of eCOGRA, congratulated the management and staff of Spin3 on the accreditation. He pointed out that some of the Spin3 powered mobile casinos had earlier obtained their individual seals of approval. Hence the software of Spin3 was known to be top class. This audit focused more on the other facets of the Spin3 operations. On this occasion Matti Zinder, Head of Spin3 said, "To become the first ever provider of mobile gambling services to receive eCOGRA certification is a terrific achievement for Spin3 and recognition of our industry-leading standards, processes, methodologies and services." Spin3 is a division of Spiral Solutions Ltd. It works in partnership with Microgaming and offers some of the best Microgaming online casino games to the mobile casinos of Microgaming licensees. Some of the Spin3 powered mobile casinos that can display eCOGRA's "Safe and Fair" seal include Royal Vegas, Spin Palace, 32 Red Mobile and Wild Jack. Earlier in the week eCOGRA had announced that it had made improvements in the requirements of its affiliate program code. eCOGRA accredits deserving affiliate programs with its Affiliate Trust Seal. This accreditation program was started in 2008 after eCOGRA developed a set of best practice standards for affiliate programs. Three major affiliate programs have been awarded the Affiliate Trust Seal. Some others are currently undergoing the inspection and compliance testing by eCOGRA's professional audit teams. The revisions to the requirements were made after some affiliate program managers offered their feedback and suggestions. The requirements now include a review of the security architecture and proof that applicant affiliate programs can fully recover from unforeseen system disasters without disrupting service to its affiliate clients. Other areas of focus include accurate calculation of affiliate revenue, accurate and complete processing of payments and correct linking of players to affiliates. Beveridge however cautioned that this certification did not cover adequacy of funds, timing of payments to affiliates, and advertising practices. As the dominant player in the mobile gaming space I'm surprised that Spin3 didn't get their accreditation from eCOGRA a long time back... what with their close relationship to Microgaming and eCOGRA this should have been a simple task for them.
