The software itself takes only a minute or two to install. Some of the games are already installed, so you don't have to go through that kind of wait. Upon entering the software, there is an additional welcome screen that gives you a screenshot preview of some of the newer games, and the main interface affords the opportunity to adjust the settings, establish chat with other players, and take a look at the menu of games that are available.
The pop-out menu comes out from the left, and when you mouse over one of the games you are given a thumbnail preview of it, which contains not just a screenshot of the game itself, but also some of the basic rules. This is good for players who don't necessarily know what game they are going to play before opening the software, or who may not be that familiar with certain variations of their favorite casino games.
In some of the games, the graphics are a little difficult to see. In blackjack, for example, the cards are not that big and from the angle of the table the game is being played at, sometimes you have to strain your eyes a bit. But if you don;t have to do that, and want to step up the action a little bit, you can jump into "Turbo" mode, which really picks up the pace of the games. You get a chance to put a lot more money across the table in a shorter period of time like that.
The Playboy Gaming casino settings allow you to control sound effects, animation and voices, and also to select your own avatar from several choices. All in all, it adds up to a nice experience.
