If there's one lesson that I've learned that has helped me so as to not get overly addicted and play in excess or beyond my means it's that I've implemented what I like to call time based gambling. I'm sure that many people do this already and that it's nothing unique necessarily but it's certainly something that's worked relatively well for me. Setting a limit to the amount of time you want to spend with each gambling session I think is key. Regardless of whether you're up or down. I think that way you really get the most entertainment value and more then that you can stretch things out. So say 1 - 2 hours of play at most per day with a moderated spending limit and I don't think that you'll go overboard as I don't either.

I think that some online casino software platforms are starting to implement features that allow players to set their own limits within the software. Features like this definitely make it easier to not get carried away with over spending at online casinos but if they don't offer it just excessive some self control and you'll be good

A good post... I think that for players to take advantage of your advice they have to exercise some self control first and foremost which I ultimately beleive is a necessity but don't likely to happen for most players. I think that most players have the same physiology behind the way that they play and it doesn't involve exercising control in general and in turn wouldn't work with respect to applying a time limit to play.

I think that provided that players can commit to playing only a certain amount of time we'd have less people going to gamblers anonymous meetings, etc... I think that I have to agree in the sense that there are a good amount of people out there that can't really control themselves when it comes to gambling online and regardless of implementing time limits unless they can be enforced by the software or the casino that they'll certainly exceed these limits.

I suppose you two are right to a certain extent but really it's not that hard to excessive a bit of discretion when playing at an online casino or gambling in general. I can certainly save everyone who does a lot of grief in the future if they were to do so.

Regardless though if you're keen on curbing your gambling spending habits and you can't control yourself or your urges you can always leverage on the fact that online casinos offer you the ability to do so by simply having them apply and implement limits on your account. Sure the player can go elsewhere and play but it defeats their own efforts then to stop themselves from continuing to gamble excessively.

I apply a similar type strategy to the way that I play online and it seems to work great. I think it's key that people set strict time limits or spending limits to how they play online I think that setting either works good in attempting to curb spending habits and over spending more importantly.
