Post Malfunctions at internet casinos due to outage?
I've never played at an internet casino or any gambling site online for that matter. I just wanted to inquire as to what happens in the event that there's a power outage or internet outage while you're in the middle of a hand in blackjack, a bonus round in a slot game, etc... Will you loose your money (ie. does the casino have the ability to void plays that they can't determine the outcome for)? If this is the case I don't think that I'd ever really want to play at any gambling site online regardless of the type of gambling that it would be.

I'm sure the members here on the site have an opinion on this and would be able to advise as to what happens in a case like this?

A big thanks to anyone that can help!

Dorset :)

In the event that a situation arises where your power goes out or your internet connection is interrupted, there's a bug in the casino software, your system crashes, etc... basically anything that would prevent you form finishing the current transaction before an incident you'd be fine. The actual round of play and all information is not stored on your computer but rather a remotely hosted computer that sends information to your computer which is interpreted by the casino software. So if there is an issue what would happen is the next time you went into the casino or particular game depending on how the casino is setup will re-initiate the round where you left off. So there's no need to worry about this is a common thing that happens when someone looses their power or the internet goes down so systems need to be in place to allow for continual play when the player is able to get back into the casino. Hope that helps somewhat. -Angie

Angie's right you shouldn't run into any problems where plays are being voided due to malfunctions that result around power outages, internet disruptions, etc... Generally online casinos and land based casinos for that matter stipulate for the most part that malfunctions void all pays but the fact is that when they say that it's more if there actually something wrong with the game that you're playing. I don't think that the situations that you're talking about would ever result in your pays being voided. You'll simply continue the round of play when you renter the casino or game.

Yeah don't worry about it shouldn't happen that often first of all but if it does you'll be fine. I've never lost money as the result of a transaction that could not be completed as that transaction provided that the casinos servers have received your request to spin the reels on a slot game or do whatever has already been done.

Don't worry about it it's all sorted for you that's the beauty of playing online. If however the power goes out in a land based casino I'm pretty sure that the last transaction would be forfeit and you'd either loose your money or they'd pay you back for that particular transaction (it never happens in land based casinos though) their power systems are super redundant as they are with the actual online casino gaming servers but you really have nothing to worry about :) :)

Thanks everyone your feedback is greatly appreciated and now I have a much better understanding of what exactly is happening if the power is lots or there are other issues.

Further to this and just to add although it seems like you should have enough reassurance at this point. The fact is that these systems that online casinos run off are more reliable in my opinion then that of what you'd find in land based casinos with respect to redundancy in the even that there's some sort of failure or issue.

I don't think you should encounter any issues that would result in you loosing any money or anything.
