Post How the economy effect online gambling?
My assumption is that online casinos and other gambling sites on the internet aren't really all that affected by the down turn in the economy. I beleive that people view online gambling often times as a means of being able to save money as they don't have to pay for plane tickets, hotel stays and meals while visiting a gambling destination like Las Vegas for example. I beleive that these people really make up for the majority of people out there when it comes to gambling online and thus online casinos and poker rooms aren't really suffering as much as say land based casinos. There's no doubt that Vegas isn't nearly as hopping as it was say a few years back although in general it's still rather busy when you do go over there.

I have no real solid evidence to back up what I'm saying here but just a thought that I wanted to share with you guys regarding how the economy can possibly be affecting online gambling and casinos on the internet. I beleive that the bigger issues facing the online gambling industry especially here in the United States are really due to our own government BS with regards to trying to ban online casino. What a load of crap... these politicians are in favor of doing so, so that they can destroy the current online gambling economy and then make way for Las Vegas to regulate and dominate the industry. This is just how this country does things I guess at the end of the day.

The problems facing online gambling you're right are coming from within the country which obviously kind of sucks as they're really putting a strangle hold on everything right now which will hopefully change in the coming months.

I do however beleive that land based gambling operations are still doing very well and if you look at the numbers globally there's no doubt that the land based gaming companies are still doing a heck of a lot better then the online ones in terms of gross overall revenue. Not quite sure about the profits as I would imagine the margins at online gambling sites exceeds that of the land based casinos by big time as they don't have nearly the operational overhead and infrastructure costs.

Anyways good post none the less and something that I'd like to see more people posting on.

The long term effect the economy has on gambling can't be predicted in any economic downturn. I do however beleive that things will turn around and that the gambling sector although it may be down right now will come back with an immense amount of potential especially when the folks from Las Vegas get involved and into the whole thing.

I think that all industries are affected by the down turn in the economy and gambling is no exception. Unless you're a die hard gambler and absolutely need to find your way into Vegas you're not likely to spend money on things that aren't absolutely necessary. I beleive that gambling is not a necessity and thus as such for the most part people can do without it if they have to.

I don't beleive personally that there's an adverse affect on gambling when the economy slumps my belief is that people start playing way more in fact in the hopes of winning big money, etc...

I would think that eventually if the economy continues to sink and go down that we'll see more and more that online casinos start to suffer as players stop spending as much as they normally would.

In my own view online gambling doesn't affect the economy, by its own growth in the market today its not depending on how the economy is down, online casino is the most productive in industry its dependable on how the people accommodates them.
