Post How much it too much when playing at an online casino?
Knowing very well that I can easily get carried away playing at online casino sites I wanted to inquire with others here as to what the general though it surrounding playing at online casinos and how long one should play for each day, week, month, etc... I'd just like to know and set some solid rules for myself so as to not develop any sort of gambling problem.

I've heard and read some articles recently that discuss how it's much easier to become hooked and addicted to playing at online casinos then it is to do so when playing in land based casinos.

Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated and probobly help me so as to not develop any sort of gambling problem or issues

Chasing your losses gets you no where but in more debt... never chase your losses regardless of the form of gambling activity it can be casino gambling, sports betting, bingo, whatever just don't do it.

The reasons online casinos and other gambling outfits make so much money to begin with is because the house always wins and one way or another you're going to loose over time. Even if you've won a progressive jackpot and you decide you want to star playing though some of that money before you know it those winnings will be fed back into the casino and who knows when the next time you'll hit a progressive would be if ever.

Take Phiz's advice and be sure that you set good limits and really "DON'T" go over and above your means!

Sticking to a firm set of rules is definitely the best approach. Anyone who games regardless of whether they have loads of extra money they can afford to loose if they don't should still set limits. Setting limits really should be dependent on how comfortable you are with the amount you're willing to loose. For example if you set your limit to 5K / month you should be comfortable in looking that 5K without it affecting your family, etc...

If you think that you're developing a gambling problem there's generally some simple questionnaires out there that can definitely help!

I think that the biggest piece of advice that one can give you would be that you should never chase your losses. It's the best and most sure way that you'll exceed any hard limits you set for yourself.

Another piece of advice that should come in handy here is that casinos that are regulated in reputable gaming jurisdictions are required as part of their regulatory code of conduct must allow players to set their own limits for how much they want to play per day, week, month, year... Usually these features are not available in the online casino software itself but if you call the customer support of an online casino and say to them that you do not want to go over a certain limit per month no matter what they'll set these limits within their software so as to not allow you to exceed such limit.
