Post Casino sites online and gambling industry and domain issues
The government in Kentucky is going after online casino, poker and sports betting domains and it could spell some problems for these online casinos.

It seems as though the issue revolves around the government in Kentucky not wanting the gambling industry online to take any part of it's revenue which is has been for many years in regards to not closing it's doors to Kentucky residence.

In an apparant event to contact operators who manage these casinos, sportsbooks, etc... they were not able to get in touch with many of them due to private whois information on the domain names, etc... so instead they have a district court filing which allows them to contact domain name registrars in an attempt to expropriate the domains from their rightful owners.

It's a load of crap and just another indication of how we as American's try to govern and control everything. Similarly to the retroactive moves by the government when they invoked the UIGEA these guys (Local Gov't) are just as bad in this bold move.

I'm fed up with the U.S. I think I'm going to leave if this kind of stuff keeps up.

Power to Obama... I hope he wins!

Hi Jordan,

Haven't seen you posting up here very much but we here at Casino Advisor really appreciate your post and continued effort here on our site and within our forum and message board.

Anyways regarding your post we think it's ridiculous as well and really unjust and not really fair to those operators who simply haven't had a chance as of yet to just block players from Kentucky in order to avoid this whole situation they're currently in.

We know at this point that the casinos who have been affected by this aren't just sitting on their behinds they're being proactive in ensuring that they're able to hold on to their domains as they are quite possibly one of the most valued intellectual property assets the casinos, poker and bingo rooms hold.

Word is that they're contesting this and actually going to fight it aggressively.

As a worse case scenario although it would be very unfortunate some of these gaming brands may be required to utilize different domain names in order to continue offering gaming services. For example (jackpotcity.com may become jackpotcity.co.uk) and so on.

Anyways you can post here in the future on this topic as it progresses as it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Admin

I completely agree with you both it's crazy I'm not really sure how it'll all turn out but hopefully the casinos don't get screwed here.

As an American myself I personally think that my government should stop concerning itself with unbelievably minor issues such as focus on the bigger issues that are plaguing our nation.

I'm a firm believer of change and think that Obama will definitely do a good job in changing things around. If we're really lucky he'll revers the UIGEA although it's unlikely it's would be terrific. Hopefully this way Microgaming would come back and regain some ground in the U.S.. At least though with Microgaming out and no longer accepting new U.S. players at their casinos or at least most of them there are some new software products including that being developed by Wizard Gaming that are truly showing some promise.

Anyways thought I'd just add my 2 cents to this thread.
