Hi eveyone... I'm new here but have a question about online casino bonuses and why they exist. I noticed that pretty much all online casinos, poker rooms and other gaming services being offered online give players an incentive to play via these bonuses that are offered. My question is really why do online casinos offer these kinds of bonuses to begin with? In my opinion it creates unnecessary competition among the online casinos and other gaming service providers. If you look at casinos with a physical presence around the globe it's not likely that you'll see that they offer you a $100 to come and play at their casino (although they do offer rewards for you play via internal comps that usually come in the form of free breakfasts, rooms, etc...).

It's quite simple... Online casinos have amassed so much competition among one another that bonuses are required to draw players to one casino vs. another. For an online casino not to offer a bonus these days or offer a weak bonus there's a good chance that they'd loose out on quite a bit of potential business. When you visit an online casino website you'll notice that one of the first things they present you with is the bonus offer and the download button for the casino. The bonus is very dominant in the world of online gaming regardless of whether it be online casinos, poker, etc...!

I read an article a while back detailing how online casinos first got started and it mentioned that Jack the fellow who owns Golden Palace casino back in the day was in direct competition with what was back then Odds On gaming software which operated brands such as English Harbour Casino, Super Slots and a few other brands. They were competing for the same business so Jack (owner of Golden Casino) decided to incentiveize his prospects by offering them bonuses. So then to reciprocate the English Harbour group of online casinos was required to come back and offer bonuses on their casinos...

Like any competition for business you need to just be that much better then your competition in order to win over your prospects!

Good Post Angie... I didn't know about how the bonus started but what you say would make complete sense as Golden Palace casino and the English Harbour group of casinos were some of the first online casinos out there in the early days of online gaming!

I think that because the competition is heading up in this industry that you'll start seeing online casinos becoming more and more generous as time goes on... For sure they'll keep competing with one another for the gaming dollars we spend when we play and there's no doubt that there's a lot of that they want to get their hands on. I personally love bonuses (cash / credit bonuses) and think that I'll always remain happy as long as I'm getting some decent bonuses from the online casinos that I play at!

I personally think that bonuses have become such a big part of online casinos and gambling online in general that they're going to have to keep them around for ever and will just need to become more and more clever about how they implement bonuses, etc...

They're good and people shouldn't complain about getting free money just like they shouldn't complain about getting free comps at land based casinos which players in general don't.

Its necessary for the owners of online casinos that they have the bonuses due to competition in the market today, its their instrument to advertise their product and attract the people to play their games for purposes.

I will never understand why anyone with any knowledge about online gaming would be lured in by the bonuses that these sites offer. It is virtually impossible to ever be able to cash out on any potential winnings that you incur. If you read all of the small print requirements on "play through" requirements, you will see how preposterise it is to reach those play through terms. I will periodically sign up to a new site to take advantage of their "NO DEPOSIT" bonuses just to try the new site. But NEVER,NEVER,NEVER accept any deposit bonuses. You are literraly throwing your hard earned money away.

I totally disagree. It is not impossible to cash out winnings or to meet the playthrough. After 6+years playing slots I have learned which slots offer higher payout, what bonuses to redeem(based on playthrough and games allowed). In fact, there are definately certain casinos thatwhere meeting playthrough is easier. One is libertyslots and the second, imo, is Clubworld. Also I have been very lucky lately at winpalace. I have to say that RTG has gone south for me in the past 3 months and I don't deposit much anymore. Mainly play liberty slots, club world, winpalace, casinotitan where bonuses are good, playthrough easy and payout times are quick.

I too have to agree RTG lost points to me in the last few months....but they got me back to check out the Orc vs Elf 3D game....its great and I hope to see more 3D games coming out of their camp.

seems like good customer service....I had a guy on chat while I was playing to get some other info I wanted instead of reading through the site, he was on point answered my questions quick....I've been on other sites and had to wait forever to get a response. So I could say that this one got 2 points from me....one for the game and the other for the guy on chat...

P.S. other slots I tried....Vulcan and Field of Green was pretty good too....I got some serious play off of these...got up to almost $150 before I got cocky and lost some.....
