Pros: Simple method of getting funds across to online casinos.
Cons: Can take a few days from the time you issue the wire with your bank.
I know what you might be thinking why would this person prefer to use wire transfers which are slow and inefficient to deposit funds into their online casino account. Well there are a few reasons actually which I've outlined below as to why I prefer to deposit and withdrawal funds to and from online casinos using wire transfers as my preferred banking options.
1. Casinos love wire transfers because once the funds hit the bank account of the casino the funds are guaranteed and players cannot charge back those funds. This means that ultimately casinos will reward players far more who want to deposit at the casino using wire vs. other means of depositing. It's suggested in my opinion that if you do decide to send wires across to online casinos and if they're not offering any sort of bonus that you contact them and request that they give you a bit extra because you're going to be wiring though some funds. Most likely they'll give you a bit something extra.
2. Some online casinos will have it right on their site that they offer bonuses to players who deposit via means other then credit cards. Generally I've found that these bonuses can go anywhere up to 30% but generally are between 10% and 20%.
3. Receiving funds back in the form of a wire transfer is also beneficial in that you don't have to wait for a check to clear. If your banks like mine as well you may find that if the check is marked with anything to do with casino they may be reluctant to deposit it into your account to begin with. So having the casino send you back any winnings in the form of a wire transfer would definitely be advisable.
So now we come to the downside. If you reside in the United States there's a small change I would say 0.0001% chance that the wire can be held up if it's been flagged for having involvement in online casino or gambling activity online. I've never had it happen but I've heard of people who play at Bodog expereince issues with wires in the past so if you're worried about this I would suggest looking at an alternative banking method to claim your winnings or using your credit card to make deposits.
