Online gambling operator Virgin Games has announced that Virgin Casino will now offer a mobile gaming platform for punters on the move. Initially the mobile casino will operate on the Microgaming powered QuickFire.

At the launch, Simon Burridge, CEO of Virgin Games, said that they were simply responding to customer demand. He pointed out that the smart phone penetration exceeds 40% in the United Kingdom and users expect that they will be able to transfer all their PC functions to their phone. And this includes online gambling. He said that mobile gaming has taken off in a big way in 2011 and it is the right time in the company's life and the industry's life to enter the market.

At the Virgin Games web site Virgin Mobile is an independent platform alongside Virgin Casino, Virgin Bingo and Virgin Poker. Some of the best Microgaming casino games are available through QuickFire. These include the eternal slots like Thunderstruck, Tomb Raider and Mermaids Millions. The progressive jackpots Mega Moolah and Major Millions will also be available. The table games are represented by European Roulette and European Blackjack. The other games include Jacks or Better Video Poker, Bingo Bonanza and Dragon's Fortune. These games will be available on a wide range of smart phones and tablet devices, including iPhones, iPads, Android devices like HTC phones and Samsung Galaxy.

Existing Virgin Games account holders will not be required to register a new account at Virgin Mobile. They can log in with their existing account username and password. Players who are new to Virgin Games can join and will have access to almost 300 casino games offered at Virgin Casino as well. All members, new and current, will be entitled to a 100% bonus up to £25 when they play mobile games for the first time. In short, players can register, manage their account, play for bonuses, deposit and withdraw seamlessly, regardless of where they are.

As Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, pointed out that Microgaming and Virgin Games already have a strong partnership. A large number of the games offered a Virgin Casino are from the QuickFire platform. Raatgever said, "In the past, we have seen joint success with our QuickFire partnership with Virgin Games so we are confident that together we can seize all the opportunities the mobile gaming market currently presents to providers."

Burridge said that they had selected QuickFire because they are very proud of the quality of games they provide online and wanted to continue this trend into the mobile offering as well. Though they have begun with QuickFire, the ultimate aim is to provide a choice of mobile games from a variety of providers, as is the case with Virgin Casino.
