California Gold Review
California Gold has a gold mining theme, which is immensely popular. Just like gold miners, slots players also dream of windfall fortunes. The Miner is the wild symbol and the Gold nugget is the scatter symbol. All symbols appearing on the reels are connected with the theme. They include the Bandit, the Mine, the Ass burdened by the load, the Cart filled with gold, the prospector's Pan, Dynamite, the Map, the Lantern, the Barrel and the Pickaxe. The symbols have been crafted in detail. The Miner is overjoyed at finding gold, which he holds up in his hand. The Bandit has an evil grin and is waiting to steal the gold from the miner. The background to the reels shows prospecting country with all the symbols scattered around.
The animation in the Miner symbol is excellent. He lets out a yell of discovery and dances with joy. The animation in the scatter symbol has the gold nugget brighten up rotate. The other symbols only flash when they appear in a paying combination. There is no background music in the main game. However the game sounds have been incorporated. Read Full Review |

Full Review - California Gold (9.15)
There is no progressive jackpot in California Gold. The highest fixed jackpot pays 5000 coins when five bandit symbols appear in an enabled payline. All the other fixed jackpots pay 500 coins or less.
Players can wager only one coin per payline. However, the coin size can vary from 0.01 to 10.00. This imparts the required flexibility in the betting option. The line bet can vary from 0.01 to 10.00 and the total bet per spin can vary from 0.01 to 250.00. California Gold slot game has 25 paylines. The number of paylines and coin size can be selected by operating the buttons below the reels.
The Miner is the wild symbol and appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. It doubles payouts when participating in a winning combination. When the Miner appears anywhere on reels 2, 3 and 4 at the same time the bonus game on the second screen is triggered. The screen displays four mines out of which the player has to choose one. The Miner goes through the chosen mine and picks up to five nuggets on his way. Each nugget weighs a certain number of ounces. The total credits won equal the weight of the nuggets multiplied by the triggering bet. This bonus feature can be triggered during the free spins round as well.
The Gold nugget is the scatter symbol. When two or more scatter symbols appear anywhere on the reels, scatter payouts are awarded. When three or more scatter symbols appear anywhere on the reels, the free spins feature is triggered. This is a simple feature in which 10 free spins are awarded at triple the payouts.
California Gold offers an excellent Auto Play feature. Players can wager on up to 500 spins without manual intervention. In this Auto Play feature players can also set the time between spins. Players can check a number of conditions that would make the auto play terminate when any of these conditions are met. The conditions include stop when a jackpot is won, stop when a win exceeds a specified amount and stop when the number of credits increases or decreases by a specified amount.
