Top Game's Speed Claims Contested

Top Game is a new online gaming software provider. The name suddenly cropped up out of nowhere in two recent news items. One item was the launch of a new online casino named 7Spins Casino on the 25th of July 2008. The item revealed that 7Spins Casino was powered by Top Game. The second item was the re-launch of the Gibraltar based Rome Casino using software from Top Game. Previously Rome Casino had been using proprietary software.
It was the second item that began to engage the online gaming industry watchers. The Chief Executive Officer of Rome Casino, made claims when announcing the new avatar of his casino. He said, On demand game loading allows for blazing fast download times and gets players to the action faster then ever. Tests show that RomeCasino.com is the fastest loading next generation platform in existence - almost twice as fast as Playtech casino games and up to four times faster than Microgaming. In fact he added that their Top Game software was the fastest in the industry.
This claim struck a jarring note. Microgaming and Playtech are as old as the online gaming industry. Online players and watchdogs of the industry have seen these two software providers grow from strength to strength. They are aware of the efforts that are required to make even marginal improvements in software. They are also aware of the huge research and development investments that Microgaming and Playtech have been making over the years. And here was a software provider who was claiming game speeds two times as fast and four times as fast as the best in the industry. And what made things even fishier was that no one seemed to know anything about Top Game.
There were many questions that demanded answers. The first arose directly from the statement made by the CEO. He had spoken of tests confirming the faster download times of the Top Game software at Rome Casino. What tests were carried out? Who carried out these test? Could the details of the tests be put in the public domain in support of the claim? The larger questions surrounded the identity of Top Game. Who owned it? Where was it located? How many people did it employ? And so on.
One industry watchdog organization picked up the gauntlet. This was InfoPowa. The name says it all. InfoPowa stands for the power of information. Despite the information technology available today InfoPowa drew a total blank. The only information that InfoPowa could unearth was that Top Game had powered another online casino called 7Spins Casino. InfoPowa then approached Rome Casino for more information but did not get any response. It was then that InfoPowa went public with their concerns. The questions still remain unanswered.
