The jackpot amount has come down probably because of the other paying features included.

The earlier Buccaneer's Bounty had symbols on the reels that were related to the pirate theme. They included cannons, skull and cross bones, black flag, ships, swords, pirates, treasure chest and beer. In the current game the old symbols have been retained and some new ones like girl captain, scallywag, island, parrot and coins have been added. But the starling difference is in the quality of the graphics. In the earlier version of the slot game the symbols were 2-dimensional and against a plain white background.
