Slots.com Domain Name Up for SaleBy: Shirley Spicer, Tuesday March 30th 20101 Comment Email Print There are indications that the web site Slots.com will be auctioned online in April 2010. This auction will be followed by the entire online gaming industry because not only is Slots.com a desirable domain name, but a similar domain name pulled big bucks in February this year. Slots.com presently functions as an information portal on online slot games. It is believed to be owned by webmaster and developer Christina Hall and her partner. Christina put up intention of selling the domain name at the public forum of Gambling Portal Webmasters Association (GPWA). Christina has asked serious bidders to respond to auction@slots.com with the following information: company name, contact name, contact email, contact fax, contact phone and market capitalization. The auction will be governed by English Law. Renee Mate, the well known Affiliate Manager of the Casino Rewards group has responded to Christina's post. Renee has won awards and accolades for three years running for her performance as an affiliate manager. Renee posed the question "What price range are you expecting Christina?" But there has been no response from Christina. Understandably Christina is playing her cards close to her chest, especially after the explosive price poker.org fetched in an auction a month ago. The domain name poker.org was sold on behalf of National A-1 Advertising to Poker Company. The deal was brokered by Sedo, which is a domain market place. The price was $1 million. Prior to this the highest price fetched for a .org domain was $198,000 for engineering.org. Domain names with .com have fetched considerably higher prices. sex.com was sold for $14 million, fund.com was sold for $10 million, toys.com was sold for $5.1 million and candy.com was sold for $3 million. This explains why Christina is being tight lipped about the expected price and why no expert is willing to hazard a guess on the outcome. Single word domain names of this nature are in demand because they get caught by the search engines very easily and usually figure on top of the search results, especially if they are active. This means much more traffic, which should result in much more business. This is what an online gambling operator wants. Though poker.org was sold in February it has not yet become functional. The message on the website says "poker.org is opening soon. Enter your e-mail address to get notified about the launch". It is doubtful that Slots.com will remain an information portal after the sale. Who ever pays big bucks will want a return on the investment. But all these issues will come later. The questions uppermost in everyone's minds today are who will be the buyer and how much he will pay. Wow I think that this domain name is going to probably sell for a crap load of money. Good to them and the owner of the domain as I'm sure if they're not already rich form owning other domains it will certainly make them rich after they sell this one!
