Microgaming Slots Options
Most online gaming software providers allow for customization of the games to suit individual player preferences. Microgaming provides more options than other software providers. This lesson explains the options available in Microgaming slot games so that players can decide how best to exercise these options.
The first step is to locate the Options tab. In some Microgaming slots the tab is on the toolbar at the bottom along with the other tabs. In other slot games it appears in a box at the bottom left along with the other tabs. In these games the Options tab is not named but carries the icon of two gear wheels. A method of accessing the options that is common to all Microgaming slots is by clicking on the menu button in the top left hand corner and then selecting Options from the drop down menu.
The Options box has two tabs. The first tab is the General tab. This tab has three sections. The fist section is Game Settings and it has the option Quick Spin. By checking the box alongside this option is enabled. Enabling this option, results in the reels coming to rest faster than normal. This option is useful for players wanting to get in more spins in a limited time. The second section is the most important because it contains the sound settings. Microgaming slots have three types of sounds. One is the game sounds. These are basically the sounds associated with the spinning of the reels. The second option is the win sounds. These are interesting because different sounds are associated with different types of wins such as scatter wins, line wins and line wins with wild symbols. The third sound option is the background sound. This is the music played when the game is idle. Players can switch off each of these three sounds individually or all three sounds together. Unless the player wants to play while listening to external music it is better to enable all sounds for a more realistic experience. The final section is different in different slots. In some games the player has the option to display the amounts as coins or credits. The player should choose the option that he is most comfortable with. In other games the third section enables or disables the gamble game. Some Microgaming slots allow players to gamble their payouts in a ‘double or quits’ or ‘quadruple or quits’ fashion. If players do not want to exercise this option and feel that they do not have the will power to refrain from exercising it then they should disable this option.
The second tab in the Options box deals with Auto Play options and shall be discussed in the next lesson.
