Game Rules & Payout Schedule
Because the different bets have their own set of rules it is more convenient to describe the rules and payouts together.
Pass Line Bet is one of the most common bets mainly because it has a reasonable house edge. If 7 or 11 is rolled in the come out roll, the player is paid out at even money. If 2, 3, or 12 (known as Craps) is rolled in the come out roll, the player loses. If any other number is rolled then it becomes the Point. In subsequent rolls if 7 is rolled before the Point, the player loses. If the Point is rolled before 7, the player wins according to the following payout table. If the point is 4 or 10 the payout is at 2:1; if the point is 5 or 9 the payout is at 3:2 and if the Point is 6 or 9 the payout is at 3:2. The Don’t Pass Bet works in exactly the reverse. The Come and Don’t Come bets work in a very similar manner.
Unfortunately the bets that are easier to understand and that are completed in one roll have higher house edges. Players who wager on these should do so with the knowledge of the risk they are taking. A popular bet in this category is the Field Bet. This bet wins if the next roll is 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. All numbers except 2 and 12 pay out even money. Rolls of 2 and 3 payout at 2:1. The bet that has given the game its name is the Any Craps Bet. This bet wins if the next roll is 2, 3, or 12 and pays 7:1. |
