Quick Track Primer to Good Play at Let It RideWednesday April 23rd 20140 Comments Email Print Let It Ride is one of those games that a lot of players tend to shy away from because it's such a tricky game to play correctly. It includes elements of both video poker and table poker. Essentially, you are forced to make one bet per hand with the option of adding two additional bets. You get the option to add these bets when you have seen three and four of your cards in a way that resembles the flop and turn being dealt in hold'em poker variations. When you decide to place your bet or remove it from play will determine your level of success at this game. Let's start with situations involving four cards since that's the easier of the two decisions you have to make in Let It Ride. The minimum hand for a payout in this game is a pair of tens or better, so if you have already made that, then you should always put in your bet or “let it ride.” A four-card flush draw is also a good hand, even if none of them can make a high pair. If you have four cards to an outside straight draw, then you should keep your bet in play as long as at least one of the cards is a ten or higher. This allows you extra outs to make a high pair in addition to making your straight because the straight draw itself is just shy of being profitable to bet on. With three cards, your options often involve playing complicated straight-flush scenarios. Obviously you'll keep your bet in if you have a pair of tens and up or three of a kind, but you should also keep it in if you have three cards to a royal flush. Other than that, you have to deal with complicated straight-flush opportunities. Three suited cards in a row with no gaps should be played as long as it's the 3-4-5 combination or higher. If there's one gap, then you need at least one high card to play the hand profitably. Along similar lines, if there are two gaps, then you need at least two high cards. For example, 89J and 7TJ would be playable as long as they were of the same suit. There's one gap in the first hand with one high card, and there are two gaps in the second hand with two high cards.
