Popular Online Progressive Jackpots Hit

When popular progressive jackpots are mentioned, two online gaming software providers come immediately to mind. One of them is Playtech and the other one in Microgaming. Last week popular progressive jackpot games of both software providers registered big hits at online casinos.

Through a press release, Playtech announced that two lucky players from the United Kingdom hit huge progressive jackpots while wagering on branded online slots. Both players were from the Playtech powered online casino Winner.com. The first player won the Holy Grail Jackpot from the satirical Spamalot slot game that was worth £692,209.05. The Spamalot video slot is based on the Monty Python spoof musical. It features original Monty Python graphics by Terry Gillian, music by Grammy-award winner John Du Prez and voice recordings of the original London cast. Spamalot is popular in all countries where Playtech has licensees, but more so in the United Kingdom. This is because it spoofs the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

The second Playtech player was wagering on Iron Man video slot from the branded Marvel series. He hit the largest of the jackpots in the network, the Ultimate Power Jackpot, for an impressive payout of £558,306.01. Amir Askarov, head of Playtech Casino, said, “Playtech is proud to deliver not only one but two single jackpot prizes of such magnitude through one of our valued licensees - Winner.com.” He added that the software provider continually offers its players the opportunity to win huge prizes through an expanding games portfolio.

Coincidentally, both the Microgaming progressive jackpots were hit from the same online casino, Ladbrokes. An unnamed Midlands businessman took down the flagship Microgaming progressive jackpot Mega Moolah. He was wagering on the Egyptian themed online slot Isis, which is one of the games linked to the progressive jackpot. The lucky player won an unprecedented £2.6 million on a single 25 pence spin. This represents the largest win in Ladbrokes online casino’s history. The Mega Moolah progressive jackpot has become even more popular since The Dark Knight branded slot was attached to it late last month. David Williams of Ladbrokes Casino said, “We’ve never known a luckier punter. It is a truly incredible win. He was playing in the early hours when he struck gold.” The other big progressive jackpot win at Ladbrokes Casino came on the same day, but on the exclusive Download Casino game Poker Jaxx. The amount won was smaller in comparison at £56,000, but the winner will not be complaining. Thanks to the Mega Moolah hit Ladbrokes Casino has paid out £3.4 million on progressive jackpots alone so far in 2012.
