Ever since Playtech announced its deal with Marvel Entertainment online slots players have been eagerly awaiting the release of the games. Now the wait is over. In a press release from its headquarters in Douglas Playtech has announced that the first two online slot games of its Marvel Series will be launched this week. The first two Marvel movie characters chosen by Playtech are Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. Further releases are expected in the coming months. The public appeal of Marvel characters is immense. This had prompted Marvel to start a movie company, Marvel Entertainment, to bring on the screen is popular characters that had so far been confined to comic books. Now Marvel Entertainment has tied up with Playtech to bring these characters to online casinos. When the value of the Marvel brand is added to the advanced graphics and audio effects that have been included in these slot games the traffic at Playtech online casinos will increase manifold. Both Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk are 20 payline video slots. Each has distinctive but innovative features. Iron Man has a Missile Attack bonus round, an expanding wild symbol that will go down well with the superhero image and a highest fixed jackpot that pays 5000 coins. The Incredible Hulk also offers a bonus around based on his own superhero image. This is the Hulk Smash bonus round. In this round players smash cars and helicopters in order to win bonus credits. The Incredible Hulk has a highest fixed jackpot that pays 4000 coins. Playtech is one of the leading online gaming software providers. Shahar Sella of Playtech pointed out that launching movie based branded slot games is not something that Playtech will be doing for the first time. Playtech had recently released an online slot game called Gladiator, which was based on the Russell Crowe Oscar award winning movie. This slot game has reached the heights of popularity. Referring to the forthcoming Marvel Movie slots, Sella said, "We are confident that these slots, with their established mass market appeal will appeal to a large audience of new and existing players, supporting our licensees' acquisition and player retention efforts, by raising the profile of their games portfolio and further enhancing the gaming experience for the players." Cryptologic, one of Playtech's main rivals, already has about 20 online slot games based on Marvel Comics superheroes. Comparisons will be made between the Marvel Comics superheroes and the Marvel Movies superheroes. Marvel Comics and Marvel Movies are independent entities that have independently licensed the use of their superheroes to two different online gaming software providers. I actually heard something kind of funny today from a friend of mine who works in the gambling industry online and is well versed in things. She mentioned that the Playtech licensing of the ability to create Marvel themed online slots games was because they were piggy backing on the Cryptologic license. And the only reason that Cryptologic was willing to offer a sub license to their software is really because they knew that the whole sale of Marvel to Disney was coming and that it could hurt Playtech. I'm not sure if that's necessarily true or not but would be interesting if this is how competitors in this space worked against one another. I could just be conspiracy theory BS but if it is true wow this industry would be really cut throat.

I'm really looking forward to these new Marvel games that Playtech's going to be releasing. I'm interested in doing some comparisons between the games that they do and the Cryptologic equivalents of the same games. I think that Playtech's really going to nail it and do a far superior job then Cryptologic in these games. I also think that if they do as good of a job with these games as they have been doing with games like Gladiator which they released not that long ago that they will be a head of the game as far as software development goes for slots games.
