Playtech TV Gaming SoftwareBy: Fabian Rictor, Thursday October 21st 20100 Comments Email Print Online casino software was originally based on a random number generator and required players to connect their computers via the Internet to the casino servers. Later to create the affect of live casino gaming, live dealer casinos were introduced. The connection mechanics were the same. Only the games were not based on a random number generator simulation but were video recordings of live casino play. Though the games offered are similar, TV Gaming is different from online casino gaming in some respects. Online casino gaming has the player wagering alone. TV Gaming has been developed with a mass audience play in mind. Online casino games do not have presenters or even dealers. At best they are conducted by absentee dealers through dealers' voices. TV Gaming is hosted by presenters and the presenters have a celebrity background in television or other forms of media. TV Gaming has the look and feel of the usual television game shows. There are many gaming operators that specialize in TV Gaming only and broadcast their games on regular television channels at scheduled times. However Playtech TV Gaming is not broadcast on television channels but is available in webcast format only. Also the Playtech games are available round the clock. In Playtech TV Gaming at any given time there is one presenter and one table available for each game. There is no limit to the number of players that can take part. Playtech has about a dozen presenters that are able to provide round the clock gaming. The rules of the games and the payouts are similar to casino games and players can wager with real money. But the stamp of show biz is obvious. The presenters follow a comprehensive and prepared script. The presentation is accompanied by a loud background sound track and flashy graphics. As in online casino games the sound volume can be adjusted or the sound track turned off altogether. Many live dealer casino games allow for limited interaction with the dealer, but in TV Gaming interaction with presenters is not possible. As in online casino games there are game enhancing features. One such feature allows a clear representation of all bets placed on the table each round so that everyone can see what the others are doing. The names of winners are scrolled across the television screen. The games and the presentation in the case of Playtech TV Gaming are separately tailored for the European and Asian markets. There is a larger game variety than in live dealer casinos but not as much as in the online casinos. The games offered in Playtech TV Gaming include Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, Casino Hold'em, Mahjong, Pai Gow Poker, Sic Bo and Keno. The Roulette games are very popular and include variants like Club Roulette, Roulette Royale and Double Action Roulette. As of now only a few Playtech online casinos offer TV Gaming. CasinoAdvisor recommends Casino Tropez.
