Playtech Releases Thor Scratch Card

The online gaming software provider Playtech has released a new scratch card game titled Thor. Thor is based on the Marvel super hero whose movie that was released last year. Thor is the seventh Marvel Movies based scratch card to be released by Playtech. All the other scratch cards already have corresponding video slots and therefore it is very likely that Playtech will release a Thor video slot shortly.

The scratch card has six regular symbols. Each offers a multiplier that is applied to the bet amount if it results in a win. The largest paying symbol is Thor’s hammer, his special weapon, that has a multiplier of x1,000. The other symbols are exact likenesses of characters from the movie. Thor played by Chris Hemsworth has a multiplier of x50. Odin played by Anthony Hopkins offers a multiplier of x20. Heimdall played by Idris Elba multiplies payouts by x10. Loki played by Tom Hiddleston has a multiplier of x2. A group of assorted characters has a multiplier of x1. One interesting feature in the Thor scratch card is that the background keeps changing to depict the different locations in which the movie was shot.

The Thor scratch card game begins with the player selecting the card price. This is available in credits of 0.20, 1.00, 5.00, 25.00 and 100.00. At a card price of 100 credits the maximum payout works out to 100k, which is a big attraction for the high rollers. The scratch card consists of nine cells laid out in a 3 x 3 matrix. When the Play button is clicked the bet amount is deducted from the player’s balance. The scratch card is loaded randomly with the symbols, but these are concealed from the player. The player then has to click on each cell in the matrix to reveal the symbol. As soon as three matching symbols are revealed, the multiplier for that symbol is applied to the bet amount and the total credited to the player’s balance. If all nine symbols are revealed without any eligible match then the player’s bet is lost.

The golden orb is the bonus symbol. When it appears anywhere on the scratch card it activates the Orb Bonus. When this happens the original matrix fades away and six orbs are displayed in place. The player has to select one of these orbs to win a bonus prize. The bonus amounts associated with these orbs depend on the card price chosen by the player.

The Thor scratch card from Playtech has a few features that can increase the speed of game play. There is a provision to scratch all the nine cells instantly using the Scratch All button.
