Playtech Online Casinos offering Sparta SlotBy: Adam Baker, Thursday July 30th 20092 Comments Email Print Sparta is one of the new slot games released by Playtech. The Spartans have made a place in history by fighting valiantly till death against the Persians in the battle at Thermopylae in which they were betrayed. This slot game reflects the nobility of the great warrior race. The symbols on the reels are iconic of the Spartan heritage. The Spartan Soldier is the Wild symbol. It appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 only but expands to fill all the rows in a towering majestic full body figure. The payouts are fantastic when this happens. The Spartan army marching in full war gear is the Scatter symbol. Two other symbols of note are the Warship and Catapult. Both show amazing animations. The Warship recedes to show an aerial view of the full Spartan fleet. The Catapult releases a flaming javelin. The Spartan Sword and Shield and the famed Grecian Urn make up the remaining symbols. The symbols on the reels also include high value card symbols that are crafted in gold in a style suitable to the Spartan theme. Players can replicate the life or death situations of war with the Gamble Game offered in the Sparta online slot game. Players can choose from two options in a bid to enhance their winnings after each payout. In the Double option they put their entire current win at risk. In the Double Half option they put half their current win at risk. If they win the Gamble Game they double the amount that they have risked, else they lose it all. Those who do not have the hearts of Spartans can ignore the Gamble Game and collect their winnings. In the Gamble Game players are dealt one card face up and four cards face down. They have to select one of the face down cards. If it is higher ranked than the face up card the players win. Players can gamble up to a limit of $1,500 in Sparta. Three Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels trigger 15 free spins at doubled payouts. The free spins have other interesting features as well. The expanding Wild symbols automatically appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 in rotation. In addition the free spins can be retriggered any number of times. Sparta is a 5 reel 30 payline slot game. The coin denominations vary from $0.01 to $5.00 and players can wager up to 10 coins per line. Hence the maximum bet per spin works out to $1,500, which must rank among the largest in the online casino industry. The highest fixed jackpot is 4,000 coins, which pays $200,000 at maximum bet. Sparta can be played at all Playtech online casinos. We recommend checking out and playing this exciting new playtech game at: Play United Casino, Casino Tropez, Casino Del Rio and Casino Omni. This game looks rather decent for Playtech. It does however look very similar to the new Gladiator game that was recently produced. I wonder why two games in such as short period of time with very similar themes. The expanding wild especially in this game looks great looks very similar to the way that Microgaming does and represents their expanding wilds in Hitman (3D looking graphic). I think this game looks rather good. I've checked out Gladiator as well and although there are some similarities I think that they're different enough that they make great games individually.
