Playtech Launches New Mobile Gaming PlatformBy: Joan Peppin, Tuesday February 2nd 20101 Comment Email Print In January 2010 Playtech had announced new initiatives like its agreements with SEGA Games Ltd. and Scientific Games of the United States. Playtech is maintaining that trust and early in February it has launched a new mobile gaming platform. In a press release from its head quarters in Isle of Man Playtech announced its new playing platform for mobile gaming called Mobile Web Apps. Mobile Web Apps is a cross-platform solution that allows players to switch easily between their computers and mobile phones using the same account log-in. Another advantage of Mobile Web Apps is that players can access the casino games in the Instant Play mode without having to download them first. Using Mobile Web Apps, operators of Playtech online casinos can expand into the mobile gaming market and thereby substantially increase their customer base. Mobile Web Apps is supported by the mobile platforms of iPhone, iPod Touch and Android phones, thus ensuring it reaches out to the large tech savvy market. All gaming platforms require interesting games and in this area too Playtech is ready with a range of products. Playtech mobile already has more than a dozen casino games. Three new games are scheduled for release. These are the popular Blackjack and Jacks or Better, which is the basic video poker game. The best of the three is bound to be Gold Rally progressive slot, which will be linked to the online casino progressive jackpot. Gold Rally has delivered five hits of a million plus over the last 365 days, the latest of these coming just five days ago. Another three Java based games are also scheduled for release. Pop Bingo is a single player version of the classic Bingo game. Keno is an exciting lottery-style game with large payouts. This set of games also includes the enduring children's game Rock, Paper, Scissors in a fixed odds betting avatar. Playtech's Mobile Web Apps includes an innovative feature called Casino Packs that allows users to create their own unique download packages. It also comes with a complete Information Management Solution system. This system manages and monitors all the activities of the mobile gaming operation. It has a modular architecture that allows for integration and customization across online casino and mobile platforms. The software has the backing of the Playtech brand. The games have all the key features that are found in online casino games. Though Playtech is the world's largest publicly traded online gaming software supplier it is perceived as being number three behind Microgaming and Cryptologic. Over the last year Playtech has been making concerted efforts to shed the number three tag and the Mobile Web Apps is one more step in this direction. This alliance that they have with Sega is really cool I would love to see some Sonic or other Sega themed video slots games or other games for them to develop would really be amazing if they were able to do this. I think that they should as there would be mass appeal for games like this.
