Clearly the French Internet gaming companies have started gearing up for the eventual liberalization of the online gambling industry in France. When that happens they will have to compete with the well known European brands for a share of the French player fraternity. Not only will they have to be as good as the overseas brands but they will have to be seen to be as good.

In this connection Partouche Technologies has taken a major step by getting its operations audited by eCOGRA and receiving their accreditation. Partouche Technologies is associated with Groupe Partouche, the largest privately held land gambling group in France. The online gambling subsidiary of Groupe Partouche is Groupe Partouche Interactive Gibraltar Limited and Partouche Technologies is its online gaming software supplier. Partouche Technologies develops or outsources online and mobile games for the online casino, poker, skill games, scratch cards, and sports betting products of Partouche Interactive. Partouche Technologies is headed by Nathalie Pereira as Chief Technical Officer.

As yet only the online casino software of Partouche Technologies has been awarded the eCOGRA Certified Software seal. This was done after the completion of the requisite onsite testing, inspection and monitoring by eCOGRA's compliance teams. Apart from obtaining the certification, the eCOGRA assessment offered several other advantages as well. According to Nathalie this exercise helped Partouche Technologies in formalizing its systems and improving certain areas of business activity. eCOGRA will continue its association with Partouche Technologies and provide monthly casino payout percentage reports and evaluate the random number generator for fairness on an ongoing basis using live data.

eCOGRA was all praise for Partouche Technologies. Shaun McCallaghan, head of the eCOGRA compliance team that carried out the inspection and assessment, commented that the operations at Partouche Technologies had been well organized, and that the software developer was professional and committed to continuous improvement. He thanked the Partouche Technologies management for cooperating with the eCOGRA team. Andrew Beveridge, the chief executive of eCOGRA, congratulated Partouche Technologies on receiving the accreditation. He said that eCOGRA's certificate was given only after a "rigorous on-site inspection, which encompassed every aspect of the company's software development activities, and was followed by sustained monitoring and annual reviews."

Partouche Technologies will approach eCOGRA for accreditation of its online poker software at a later date. Presently it is engaged in in-house development of the poker software and will first ensure that internal checks have been met.

Given eCOGRA's standing as an international accreditation agency of repute and experience, it is likely that others associated with the French online gambling industry will come forward and seek accreditation.
