In August 2016 Microgaming announced a tie-up with a new online gaming content supplier Just For The Win. This Swedish firm was contracted to release all its games to Microgaming licensees on the Quickfire platform. The first title Goldwyn’s Fairies has just launched and the expectations have been more than fulfilled.

Goldwyn’s Fairies is a slot game in the standard 5x3 format with 20 fixed paylines. The first thing you will notice on the payout table is that the values are abysmally small. These are not multiplied by the line bet but by the total bet. In a fixed paylines slot there is no need for line bets and this simplification has been done by Just For The Win. The Wild logo is the wild symbol and it also awards the top line payout. Five wild symbols in an active payline pay 25 times the total bet. In the traditional system this would work out to 500 times the line bet. There are four very dainty fairies and four gem stones as the other symbols. All have to appear aligned from left to right on an active paylines.

The highlight of Goldwyn’s Fairies is the Returning Wild feature that works in conjunction with re-spins and free spins. One Respin Wild symbol anywhere on reel 3 triggers the respin mode with the Returning Wild feature. The respin mode continues till no more Respin Wilds appear. The feature ends with a final respin. The free spins mode is triggered by landing three Free Spins Wild symbols anywhere on reels 1, 3 and 5. You will get 9 free spins with the Returning Wilds feature and one final free spin, making it 10 in all. In the Returning Wild feature the positions where the Respin Wild or Free Spin Wild symbols appeared in the triggering spin are marked with a Returning Wild, which is a circle. During the final respin or free spin all positions marked with a Returning Wild will have the regular wild symbol.

The game functionalities are also slightly different from the regular Microgaming video slots. You obviously do not select the number of paylines, but you also do not select the number of coins or coin size. You directly select the total bet per spin. This can be varied from $0.10 to $500. Gwendolyn’s Fairies online slot also has an auto play feature, a quick spin feature and provision to disable the audio.
