Net Entertainment Receives eCOGRA AccreditationBy: R. Kingsley, Tuesday October 21st 20080 Comments Email Print Net Entertainment is a leading online gaming software provider that was founded in 1996 by a leading Scandinavian offline casino operator in order to cash in on the nascent online gaming market. Its software package known as CasinoModule not only includes excellent games but also customized solutions along with necessary support structure. Today Net Entertainment has over 60 licensees for its software, which include industry heavy weights like Unibet, Betsson, Poker Room and Chili Poker. Net Entertainment has added another feather in its cap by receiving the coveted "Safe and Fair" seal from eCOGRA. eCOGRA is in the forefront of player protection and online gaming standards and its seal is given only after comprehensive inspection of the software and operating systems. Players all over the world consider eCOGRA's certificate as an unequivocal indication of a safe, responsible and fair online casino and therefore this accreditation is bound to bring increased traffic to Net Entertainment powered online casinos and poker rooms. The seal of approval was first introduced in 2003. eCOGRA's audit covered the development, implementation and maintenance of Net Entertainment's CasinoModule, which was found to be compliant with the high standards set by the independent auditor. Therefore the directors on the Seals Compliance Committee confirmed that the software could be awarded the seal. Now the individual licensees can offer their systems for inspection and apply for permission to display the eCOGRA seal on their web sites. In fact three of the licensees have already successfully undergone the rigorous inspection and monitoring process and have received the accreditation from eCOGRA. They are Unibet, Digibet and Casino Room all from Europe. Incidentally Net Entertainment does not supply its software to licensees who cater to the American market. There are several other licensees whose inspection is underway. Meanwhile Johan Ohman, the Chief Executive Officer of Net Entertainment, has congratulated his management team on achieving the accreditation. He lauded their commitment and dedication that were instrumental in meeting the high standards and tough inspection set by eCOGRA. He called this accreditation an "important milestone in operational excellence and player protection for the company." Speaking on the occasion of the accreditation. Andrew Beveridge congratulated both Net Entertainment and its licensees who also received eCOGRA's seal of approval. Andrew Beveridge is the Chief Executive Officer of eCOGRA. Beveridge pointed out the increasing demand of eCOGRA's accreditation services from the online gaming industry. He said that there are 20 online gaming software suppliers who have either already been approved by eCOGRA or whose inspection is nearing completion. He saw this as an acceptance of eCOGRA as the industry's most reputed standards setting authority. He cited eCOGRA's independence from any software supplier or any casino operator as the reason for this.
