You can not be paid on a winning combination unless that combination appears on an enabled payline. You, as the player, have the power to enable as many paylines as you see fit, up to a maximum of 25. Just look for the button at the bottom of the interface that says "Select Lines." 

All winning combinations have to appear from left to right on the screen; so they have to start at reel #1 (the one at the extreme left).

The wild in this game (the Wheel of Wealth symbol), aside from completing winning combinations and doubling the payout of those combinations, also pays off as a combination all by itself. For five in an enabled payline that payout is a whopping 10,000 coins, while four in a payline will pay 1000 coins. Those represent the top two payouts in this game. When five scatters (the Scatter Coin) appear on the screen, regardless of enabled paylines, you would multiply the total coins bet by 200 to come up with the payout.
