Microgaming To Launch Tarzan Branded Online Slot

The competition in the branded video slots is getting fiercer and Microgaming has stolen a march ahead by bagging a brand that has endured more than a 100 years. A press release from Microgaming dated July 25 states that the software provider has obtained the exclusive rights to the Tarzan name for online slot games. Microgaming signed the licensing agreement for the rights with Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. The deal was brokered by Creative Licensing Corporation.

The fictional hero was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs in his novel Tarzan of the Apes, first published in 1912. Thereafter he appeared in 25 sequels. Tarzan is also the most filmed character in motion picture history. He has been portrayed by 29 different actors since 1918 of which the most popular has been the Olympics swimmer Johnny Weissmuller. There is no media form left untouched by Tarzan, who finds a presence in television series, Broadway stage productions, comic strips and much more.

Microgaming has revealed only a wee bit about the forthcoming branded slot game. Tarzan will take centre stage and host the stunning game. He will be accompanied on the reels with Jane his wife and Archimedes his father-in-law. Obviously many of his jungle friends will be featured as well. The game will also contain a bunch of thrilling features. The audio will include Tarzan's famous yell, which has also been copyrighted. The Tarzan online slot will launch to Microgaming operators later in the year across all platforms on desktop and mobile.

Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, said, “Tarzan is recognised the world over, so we're excited to be launching a slot hosted by this timeless character.” He pointed out that the Microgaming highly talented games team is enjoying working with this new brand. The objective is to create a slot game that does justice to the massive brand equity of Tarzan. Raatgever added, “Having seen the game in prototype, I can honestly say the online slot will not disappoint Tarzan fans; operators and their players can look forward to the game's release this winter.”

Microgaming did make another promise this February when it announced a branded slot based on Jurassic World, the fourth film in the Jurassic series. This will complement the existing Jurassic Park branded slot game based on the first movie. No time frame was announced then and players at Microgaming online casinos would now want to know whether Tarzan will launch first or Jurassic World.
