The graphics and sound are good in this slot game and difficult to find fault with. The symbols are crafted ornately and even the high value card symbols have detailed designs. But they lack that final touch that makes good symbols great.

Theme and Concept (8)

The immediate and significant complaint about the theme is that it has been worn threadbare. There are more slot games with the Ancient Egypt theme than with any other theme and this is a turn off. No attempt has been made to do anything different with the theme. The theme has been conceived and executed as it has been in other similar slot games with more or less the same symbols.

Game Features (8)

Ruby of the Nile does not have a bonus game on the second screen and that is a drawback. The free spins round is very simple and hardly exciting. The biggest concern is the line payouts. Not only are the payouts abysmally low, but there are few paying combinations. The game addresses this by having more scatter symbols, by having two wild symbols and by letting the wild symbols substitute for scatter symbols. However it is difficult to judge whether these compensate adequately for the low line payouts and therefore apprehensions remain.

Betting Options (8)

All three betting parameters can be varied, which offers maximum flexibility. The coin size range and the number of paylines are adequate. Five coins per payline is low. On the whole the betting range variation cannot be complained about. The line bet range varies from 0.01 to 2.50 and the total bet range varies from 0.01 to 50.00.

There is no progressive jackpot. The fixed jackpot payouts are very poor as has been mentioned earlier.
