On Wednesday November 28,QuickFire, the online casino software platform powered by Microgaming, announced that one lucky player had hit the progressive jackpot on The Dark Knight branded slot machine. The 35 year-old player, who has not been named in the press release, hails from Norway and won the impressive amount of 5.4million Kroner. The player was wagering at the Unibet online casino, which has a large client base from the Scandinavian countries.

The press release also pointed out that most progressive jackpot operators in the industry adopt staggered payouts. However, Microgaming’s Progressive Jackpot pays out in one single cash payment immediately. The Unibet player has already received all of the publicized payout of 5.4million Kroner. Another thing about the Microgaming Progressive Jackpot is that the winning amount shown on the ticker is paid out in the currency in which the winner has played the game. Therefore, if the winner had been from the United Kingdom the payout would have been £5.4 million and if the winner had been from Spain the payout would have been €5.4 million. To date, the Microgaming Progressive Jackpot Network has paid out a staggering €320million in total.

It was the usual big winner scenario for this player from Norway. He said that he had no idea what was happening. At first, he thought he had won 5,000 Kroner, and was thinking of buying a nice Christmas present for his girlfriend. But the amount kept increasing and soon it displayed over 5million Kroner. The winner said, “I couldn’t believe it, I was in shock. I rang the Unibet customer service department so that I could get confirmation of the win!” Congratulating the winner, Ashley Sandyford-Sykes, Head of QuickFire, said that his platform offers operators access to the largest online Progressive Jackpot Network in the industry and provides the highest level of entertainment to players. “It’s fantastic to see yet another Progressive Jackpot payout on the QuickFire platform – we offer our congratulations to the winner.”

The Dark Knight video slot game is based on the legendary motion picture from Warner Bros. The branded slot game was launched earlier this year and offers players the chance to win one of four progressive jackpots through a randomly triggered bonus wheel feature. Needless to add the winner hit the largest of the four progressive jackpots. When The Dark Knight slot game went live, Microgaming withdrew another branded slot machine from this progressive jackpot network. This was The Fellowship of the Ring: The Lord of the Rings, popularly known as LOTR. LOTR had been around for two years and players will definitely miss it. However The Dark Knight has adequately filled the breach.
