Monster Mania Details Page
Software (9)
You can't have any complaint about how the software works. It is developed by one of the great names in the business - Microgaming - so you know that not only are the graphics going to be first-rate, you also know that the safety and security levels are going to be very high. And as with almost all Microgaming offerings, you have a load of options at your disposal, when it comes to controlling the "atmosphere" around which the game will be played.
Easy to Understand (8)
The game is pretty straightforward, like a normal slots offering. It may take a few minutes to understand what the various symbols are and what they mean, especially the wilds and scatters, but that's minor. The help files that are included with this game make the answer to just about any question only a click or two away.
Graphics & Sounds (9)
The graphics are nice and clear, and the symbols that are displayed on the five reels are particularly colorful. The payout tables are easy to read, and the options are all laid out in front of the player in a very orderly graphic fashion. There are a lot of sounds you can turn on, which include "game" sounds, "win" sounds and "background" sounds, as many players believe this enhances the experience or simulates the brick and mortar casino environment. However, if you're not one of those people, you have the option of turning everything off too.
Theme and Concept (9)
This theme is very cool and very easy to grasp. Hey - it's all about the monsters. And about the fruit, which the monsters obviously gobble up. Yuck, yuck, yuck.
Game Features (8)
One of the drawbacks is that there is no Free Spins Game, which is a nice bonus feature for the player and a chance to pick up some extra cash. there are, of course, options that the player can use, like those contained in the "Expert Mode." These include AutoPlay, which allows you to play any number of spins you designate automatically; that is, you don't really have to interact with the software to continue playing. And if you're really in a hurry, you can go the "Quick Spin" route, where you can get the results of each spin displayed much quicker on the screen.
Betting Options (6)
The wagering spread is only about 1-to-8, up to a 2.00 coin maximum. The maximum bet available is just $18. And there is no avenue by which to double or quadruple your return at the end of each win, as is the case in games that have the Gamble Bonus Game.
Jackpots (7)
The biggest jackpot you can get is 1000 coins with five "Tongues" in a row. The upside is that other symbols, comparatively speaking, have decent payouts; that is to say, the Gecko symbol returns 900 and the Horns symbol brings 700 (based on five in a row on a designated payline). But these are small numbers.
