Lucky Shot Details Page
Software (9)
This is obviously a superb piece of software, as we have come to expect from Microgaming, which is generally regarded as the world's leader in producing online gaming software. When you take a look at Lucky Shot, you know that they have managed to combine theme, graphic detail, navigability, user-friendliness and player convenience to produce a real hole-in-one. Is this game up to par? It is, and then some!
Easy to Understand (9)
It is related to the game of golf, but it is also a game of slots, which by definition makes it rather simple and straight-forward. It would make sense that those who don't understand golf or have no interest in it would probably not play the game, but in the event that is not the case, there are great Help files available for the player's convenience.
Graphics & Sounds (9)
The graphics don't provide a lot of clutter, which is a positive. Also, you can see exactly which paylines you have enabled as you increase that number with every click of the "Lines" button. The quality of symbols draws absolutely no complaint from us. The soundtrack is kind of sharp and snappy, and if you don't want to hear it, or certain parts of it, the software gives you the opportunity to make adjustments so you can customize that ambiance.
Theme and Concept (9)
It's always cool when you have a sports-related theme, and with the gold atmosphere in Lucky Shot, Microgaming demonstrates a nice originality. However, one gripe is that they may have been able to come up with better names for some of the symbols than Golfer 1, Golfer 2, Golfer 3, etc.
Game Features (8)
In the Gopher Bonus Game, which allows you to capture random bonus amounts by picking Gopher symbols that reveal those bonus amounts, it's a nice thing that you can get more than three picks - up to five in fact - depending on how many scatters (Gophers) you originally got to trigger the game. We're less excited that there is no way to win additional free spins when you're playing the Free Spins Bonus Game. As far as other game features in the form of player options, the AutoPlay function is available, if you want to minimize your interaction with the actual casino software. And you speed things up in the game, getting more action across the reels in a shorter amount of time, by using Quick Spin.
Betting Options (8)
There is a nice spread of coin size, with a minimum of .01, and a maximum of .50. You can get up to 20 paylines activated, which brings a maximum wager of 200 coins. That's adequate. The "Bet Max" button, which is blue and at the very bottom of the interface, immediately plugs you into the highest possible wager. This is not "low-roller," but not necessarily "high-roller" either.
Jackpots (10)
The biggest payout you can get in the Gopher Bonus Game is 60,000 coins, but that would take an incredible "lucky shot," if you know what we mean. Though the Lucky Shot symbol is not a wild, the payout for five in a row certainly is, as it brings 15,000 coins. That's better than a "double eagle"! Four Lucky Shots on an enabled payline pays 1500 coins, and five Trophies in a line produces a 2000-coin yield. There are pretty decent jackpots all the way down the line. Click "Payout," the small blue button on the left, to see it all.
