Winning combinations will only pay off when they are achieved on an enabled payline. There is a blue graphic that says "Lines" where you can make any adjustments you want. Combinations do not count unless they appear on the reels from left to right.

The Wandering Ghost enables any symbol it "inhabits" to be a wild, and that can be used to complete winning combinations. The only thing it won't substitute for is the Dead Ghost or the Mansion.

When five Dead Ghost symbols (the scatters) appear on the screen - and that means anywhere, not necessarily on an enabled payline - you can multiply the total credits you have bet by 150. With four Dead Ghosts, that number drops down to 15.
