Microgaming High Speed PokerBy: Joe Valentino, Sunday September 16th 20120 Comments Email Print High Speed Poker is a three card poker variant at Microgaming online casinos that is played differently from the conventional 3 Card Poker game. It is available as a Gold Series Multi Hand game. Being a Gold Series game ensures an elegant table layout that creates an exclusive live casino environment for the players. The Multi Hand aspect allows players to wager five hands against the same dealer hand. As is the practice in Multi Hand games, the players complete each hand one at a time before the dealer’s hand is exposed. The game play of Microgaming High Speed Poker is as follows. The player places the Ante bet for all the hands that he wants to play. The minimum bet is 1 credit and the maximum bet is 200 credits. The player can also place the optional Bonus bet, once he has placed the Ante bet. Three cards are dealt face up to the player against each Ante wager. If the Bonus bet has been placed it is settled up front, even before the player makes his move. Hence the Bonus bet can pay out even if the player folds or loses the hands. The payouts for the Bonus bet are as follows based on the three cards dealt to the player. Three cards of the same color pay 2 to 1. Three cards of the same suit pay 6 to 1. And three of a kind pays 27 to 1. In all other cases the bonus bet loses. After the bonus bet is settled the player has to make his decision. He can fold, in which case he will lose the Ante bet. If the player decides to continue with the game then he will place a Play bet that is equal to the Ante bet. Once the player takes the call on all his hands, the dealer’s cards are turned over and the final settlements made by comparing each player hand independently with the dealer hand. The dealer qualifies with a Queen of higher. If the dealer does not qualify the Ante bet pays 1 to 1 and the Play bet pushes. If the dealer qualifies and the player has the higher ranked hand then both bets pay out at 1 to 1. If the dealer qualifies and the hands are tied then both bets push. If the dealer qualifies and the dealer has the higher ranked hand then both bets lose. In addition to the above payouts the player is entitled to an Ante bonus on the following hands. Straight pays 1 to 1. Three of a kind pays 4 to 1. Straight flush pays 7 to 1. The Ante bonus will not pay out if the player folds, but no player will fold if he holds a straight or a higher ranked hand. The Ante bonus will pay if the player plays irrespective of the outcome. High Speed Poker has many of the Microgaming table games features. Under the game options the player can disable the different sound settings individually or all of them together. The player can enable Auto Bet, in which case the bet of the previous game will automatically be placed on the table. The player can also enable Quick Deal, which speeds up the card dealing animation considerably.
