The amount of the maximum bet for each wager will differ, depending on the kind of wager that is placed.. For example, the maximum you can play on a "straight bet" (i.e., any individual number) is $10. A play on "outside bets" like the red, the black, the even or the odd, is $80. The "Dozen Bet," which works on groups of a dozen numbers, placed on the "1st 12," "2nd 12," or "3rd 12," are a maximum of $70.
"Inside" bets are those that sit within the standard roulette layout, i.e., that which contains the numbers between 0 and 36.
"Outside" bets are those which reside outside of the standard layout, and this term includes all the proposition bets.
Here's some more terminology about bets:
• Street Bets - also known as a "Three-number bets," are placed on any three numbers in a row on the table.
• Line Bets - these are also called "Six-number bets," and the covers six numbers that appear in two adjacent rows on the table.
• Column Bets - cover an entire column of numbers on the table. They get placed at the bottom of the column, and if this bet wins, it pays off at 2-to-1.
• Even-Money Bets - These occur when the player places a bet on 18 numbers at once. And this can be a group of numbers in sequence (e.g., 1-18), color (red or black), or the grouping of odd or even numbers. This wager pays off at even money, just as the name implies
