It is rather standard that any winning combination must appear on an enabled payline to be valid for payout. As the player, you make the determination as to which paylines are going to be enabled, up to the maximum of 20. That apparatus can be found at the green "Lines" button at the bottom of the interface. All winning combinations must also appear from left to right on the screen.

Scatter symbol payouts will only happen if they appear from left to right on the reels. In the event five Electric Chair symbols appear, there is a multiplier of 100x the number of coins wagered. With the Switch scatter, the same event will produce a multiplier of 50x the number of coins wagered. That becomes a 100x multiplier if five Switch symbols appear during the Free Spins Bonus Game.
