Microgaming Announces Battlestar Galactica Slots Online

Ever since its tie up for The Lords of the Rings trilogy, Microgaming has gone for the best in branded slots. It has just signed a licensing agreement with NBC Universal Television Consumer Products to develop an online video slot game based on the hit science fiction series, Battlestar Galactica.

Battlestar Galactica is one of the most acclaimed television series having reached over 14 million viewers worldwide during its final season and having won three prestigious Emmy awards. The story features the last remnants of humanity struggling to find a new home while fleeing from their deadly Cylon enemies. It brought to a new generation of viewers the awesome wonder of Star Wars and Star Trek. Battlestar Galactica ran for four seasons on Syfy between 2004 and 2009. It offers enough material for Microgaming to create wonderful graphics, lively animations and exciting bonus rounds. When these are integrated using the experience and professionalism of Microgaming and the result can only be a hugely successful gaming product. No date has been set but the hotly anticipated game is due out later this year.

Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, said that the leading software developer was thrilled to be creating video slots which are light years ahead of the rest. He was sure that his team would do justice to the Battlestar Galactica brand. He said that they were not only targeting their own base of players but would strive to bring all Galactica fans to Microgaming online casinos. Christopher Lucero, Director of Global Consumer Products for NBC Universal Television was very happy to partner with Microgaming on the Battlestar Galactica online video slots. QuickFire, powered by Microgaming, has entered into an independent agreement to provide Sheriff Gaming products via the QuickFire platform. The first Sheriff game to be released by QuickFire will be The Amsterdam Master Plan. This will be a 5 reel video slot in which dangerous criminals have hatched a plan for a big heist. Players will help the crooks and share the spoils. The slot machine will offer high impact 3D graphics that will provide cinema quality excitement with gaming features such as the Expanding Wild Reel and Wheel of Fortune Bonus giving players plenty of opportunities to win big. Ultimately QuickFire customers will have access to a broad range of Sheriff products including scratch card and Keno games. Eric Roskamp, spokesperson for Sheriff Gaming, was delighted to have entered into this new affiliation with QuickFire. He said that QuickFire’s strong market position will offer maximum mileage to their products.
