Major Millions Progressive Hits below PotentialBy: Joe Valentino, Monday October 12th 20091 Comment Email Print Two of the flagship progressive jackpot online slot games from Microgaming have recorded hits this month that were well below their potential. As such progressive slot games can hit any time, but online players do carry some expectations based on the past histories of these slot games. And these hits are much lower than what the progressive slots have delivered in the past. The progressive jackpot to hit a few days ago was Major Millions and the one that was hit in the beginning of October was Mega Moolah. Major Millions hit three days ago for an amount of just over $300,000. Major Millions was released in 2002 and in the same year it hit for over $1.5 million. It was the first progressive jackpot to deliver a payout of more than a million dollars. Thereafter there were some repeated million dollar plus hits. The last million dollar hit on Major Millions was in early 2008. Since then the payouts have been steadily decreasing. The average payout in the last 365 days has been just over $500,000 and the current hit has been even less than that. Mega Moolah has the same story to tell. Its payouts in the last two years first steadily rose from $4 million to $5 million to $6 million. Then the last two hits were only of $1.2 million. Many online slot players enter progressive jackpots when the jackpot amounts rise to somewhere near their average payouts based on past history. This is because progressive jackpots do not give efficient returns soon after being hit. The investment required is the same irrespective of the amount of the jackpot. Hence players like to wait till the amounts are sufficiently high. However, the recent news concerning Major Millions and Mega Moolah may now force them to rethink their strategy. Not all Microgaming progressive jackpot online slot games are behaving in this manner. LotsaLoot has a history of hitting about every four days at an average amount of $21,000. It hit two days ago at an amount of over $34,000, the highest in more than two months. But LotsaLoot is a comparatively low paying progressive jackpot and high rollers would not give it a second thought. The Microgaming progressive jackpot now on the watch list is King Cashalot. King Cashalot hit for over 1 million dollars nine months ago and is currently cruising at over $500,000. The question that online players are asking is whether it will follow in the footsteps of Major Millions and Mega Moolah and be hit well below its average of $800,000. King Cashalot can be played at all Microgaming online casinos. Casino Advisor recommends Platinum Play, Roxy Palace, River Belle and Blackjack Ballroom. Although it's surely disappointing to some players out there you definitely have to give it up to the player that hit this jackpot it's still a sizable win. Unfortunately it didn't get up to and over a million dollars sure but still I'm sure the player that won isn't complaining right now.
