In South Korea it is illegal to gambling online; however this is not stopping a great many of the South Koreans from logging in to sites and placing wagers. This type of option is leaving them open to being charged for illegal practices if caught, but so far there have not been too many reports of trials for the illegal gambling.

One site that has South Korean gamblers say they get about 3 million visitors a day, and the reports from the online gambling community say there are millions of players online. The bad part about the illegal gambling is that those playing and trusting money to the online sites could lose big as the sites are illegal. It is more than just being illegal. Some of the sites are not going to be legitimate online gambling sites. Instead they open to get players, get deposits and then close stealing the players information as well as money. This is what happens when gambling isn't legalized and those who choose to ignore it get burned.

The exact number of players at online casinos will probably never be known, since most of the online casinos are trying to stay under the radar of the government.

Part of the issue for this online gambling is that a lot of the players are becoming addicted to the sites. The addiction means these individuals are becoming financially strapped as they try to find more and more money to feed their fun.

It is one of the reasons the government still wants to keep the online gambling illegal. They want to protect their citizens from the suffering. Some of the government agencies have been trying to track down the illegal gambling places to stop them for good. In fact these agencies are making compensation to players who will report the illegal operations.

There are some that say shutting down the operations is not going to help. More will just continue to spring up or reopen on a different URL. What needs to happen in this case is legalize it to help restrict the play and help the players stay away from becoming addicted.

The online casinos are already in South Korea just as they are in the rest of the world. The only way to fight these illegal issues it to regulate them in some fashion because it won't stop. Other countries have already found this out.

These other countries have tried to prohibit gambling online, but now they are being forced to make changes for the legitimization. This is because trade and the industry are demanding these changes. While South Korea is still mostly on their own there are going to be changes needed if they have a hope of combating the overall issue. The more something is illegal the more a lot of individuals will enjoy the game. By making it true it could very well slow down the issues currently happening. As it is they can't stop the millions from playing online.
