InterCasino Sponsors Extraordinary Competition

InterCasino is an extraordinary online casino. It was the first casino to launch on the Internet way back in 1996 and has since then offered top class gaming and promotions. It has always been its endeavor that people satisfy their urge to perform the extraordinary. In a recent promotion Space Race one player won a trip to outer space. Now InterCasino is carrying this attitude forward by sponsoring the "Welcome to the Extraordinary" competition.

In the Welcome to the Extraordinary competition InterCasino invites budding and experienced filmmakers to submit a 40 second movie that will portray their interpretation of the word ‘extraordinary’. The last date for submission of entries is July 25. InterCasino has launched a new micro-site at welcometotheextraordinary.com where the entered film clips will be featured. The competition has already started on May 24 and some movies can be viewed. Aspiring participants are advised to get their entries in early so as to avoid crowding out. The submissions will be judged by leading luminaries of the film industry. These will include actor Mathew Horne, film journalist Joe Utichi and Elliot Grove, founder of the Raindance Film Festival. Alexandra Gal, Marketing Vice-President for InterCasino, will also sit on the panel of judges.

The prizes are really attractive. There are two prizes. The First Prize will be awarded to the film that is judged the best by the judging panel. This prize will include a trip to the Cannes Film Festival 2011, a screening of the film at the Raindance Film Festival 2010, a free subscription for one year to Raindance and a full Raindance Festival Pass. The winning film will also be promoted by InterCasino. The YouTube prize will go the film that generates the most views on YouTube. This includes two tickets to the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) after-show party, a free subscription for one year to Raindance.tv and a full Raindance Festival Pass.

This is what Horne, the well known star of the British television series Gavin And Stacey had to say about the competition. "I’m really passionate about the idea of giving aspiring filmmakers a platform such as this to break into the industry and it’s great to be helping to showcase new talent in this way. Getting your film screened at the Raindance Film Festival is a really extraordinary opportunity and I’m very excited about taking a look at the short films that are entered into the competition."

InterCasino has gaming software from Cryptologic and is licensed by the Lotteries and Gaming authority of Malta. It launched a new state of the art web site earlier this year and since then has been living up to its byline "Welcome to the Extraordinary".
