Golden Palace Casino Software
The download of the software is not slow; in most cases, if you are dealing with a DSL or broadband modem, you can get it done within 3-5 minutes.
The main interface is very straightforward and bears a resemblance to a web page, with the background image of a large and elaborate real-life casino lobby. The menu is simple as it goes down the left side of the interface - Card & Table Games, Slots Games, Progressive Games, Arcade Games, Live Dealer Games, Asian Games, Video Pokers, Favorite Games. In the bottom left-hand corner you can also access information on the latest promotions that are on tap at the casino, not to mention the full tournament list. And if you desire to play poker, Golden Palace has an icon that points right to its multi-player poker room.
Once inside, it is just what you would expect from someone like Golden Palace. You pick a game from the menu's sub-categories at the left, and the game then downloads for you. At all times, there is a "crawl" across the top of the interface with news of what else is happening at the casino. And if you want to give news or get news from other players, a one-on-one chat apparatus is readily available as well.
What's really cool about the graphics, when you're playing a game like blackjack, for example, is that as the cards are being dealt, you can see the shadow effect they're making as they're coming to you. That's called "attention to detail"!
All the standard games are available, including baccarat, craps, roulette (both American and European versions), Pai Gow, Caribbean Poker, along with Red Dog, Pontoon, Casino War, and several variations of blackjack, among them Blackjack Switch, Perfect Pairs and Progressive Blackjack. The dealer makes sounds that signal the decision you make at the table (e.g., "Hit" or "Stand") and when there is an Ace showing, the hole card moves over to a virtual sensor that tells you whether the dealer has blackjack. It's kind of fun, actually, and adds to the atmosphere.
