What casino screen resolution to you prefer?
Microgaming online casinos now accommodate a higher screen resolution. Before their screen size in window mode used to be limited to 800x600 but now they've expanded on that and it's 1024x768. When I first stared playing in this new mode I really liked it but now I'm not so sure how much I really like it. It's still good don't get me wrong and especially for their newer games but if you take a look and like to play some of their older games including popular ones such as the original Tomb Raider and Thunderstruck slot games they're not as sharp as they were when you were able to play them in the 800x600 mode. I guess it's kind of a trade off having a larger default setting for when you enter the casino in exchange for older games having slightly degraded quality. I guess in the end though it's not all that much different then if you were to play in full screen mode which I beleive there's a ton of players out there who do. I guess in the end it's pretty good. I'm sure there's another thread like this on casino advisor somewhere however I couldn't find it so I figured I'd start a new one and just see what other people have to say about it. I think that Microgaming is the first and only one for that matter who have optimized their software client for this resolution now. None of the other software providers have really approached this as of yet.

Re: What casino screen resolution to you prefer?
I've played both and I definitely am one who prefers the 1024x768. Hands down it's far better to play in windowed mode if you ask me. Being able to auto play and manage other tasks behind the screen is a great option and the larger view mode allows you to be almost in full screen mode but be able to easily toggle between the different windows that you may have open. I for example from time to time when playing may very well like to go from playing slots to checking my e-mail. When in full screen mode I have to minimize then go to my e-mail then back to the software and start playing again. Anyways to answer your question in terms of what I prefer I'm personally a fan of the new resolution that they've gone with.

Re: What casino screen resolution to you prefer?
Been surfing around here on the site for some time now and just wanted to say hello first and foremost and secondly I just wanted to contribute to this thread.
I think it's going to be a personal preference for all players golfpro but ultimately the 800x600 resolution monitors in general are phased out. I can't think of the last time that I've seen one actually. I beleive it was probably like more then a couple of years that have passed since I've seen one really.
I like the Microgaming new larger window for games I think it fits better in my monitor and in general just looks better. Sure some of the games may be a little rough but if you look at games like Winter Gold or Love Potion which are two of their new games these are unbelievably sharp looking games.

I wish that some of the US online casino software providers or those out there that are still accepting wagers from US players would look at doing something like this.

Thanks for your comments and feedback guys it's greatly appreciated! I look forward to more new games that they release at this resolution as I think that they'll just get better and better as it generally is with all Microgaming online casino games overall.

Everyone will always have their own preference whenever there's change. From my expereince though change often times leads to players really being pissed off so sometimes change really isn't all that good and these online casino software providers really need to be careful about what and how they do things. I think that this is a positive change all in all though!

Well I prefer playing in full screen mode myself so this doesn't really affect me all that much to be honest but it is really good to know that they are offering this as I'm sure that when you're multi-tasking it's definitely better to be playing in a way where you can access the other windows behind the games window. I know that I do this sometimes when I want to be doing more then one thing at a time.

I've played both and for me I definitely am a bigger fan of the 1024x768 mode just because you do have the option of doing stuff and you don't in full screen mode and it's definitely more vibrant and clear when playing at Microgaming online casinos then the former 800x600 mode was really.

I personally myself don't worry so much about a degradation in the quality of the graphics. As long as the graphics are designed well to being with it really shouldn't be all that big of a deal. Going to full screen seems to be the way that I enjoy playing more often then not. The only time I'm not really playing in full screen mode is when I'm looking to do other tasks on my computer in parallel with playing at the casino.
