It's kind of funny how different online casino gambling can be in some respects when you compare it to conventional land based casino gambling. The games, the way things operate and function it really is a whole different industry with both pros and cons.

One of the biggest cons I have to say to the entire industry in the way that things operate is how things work with regards to withdrawals at online casinos. Online casinos want to do whatever they can to keep your money in the casino because they know that at the end of the day that you're more likely to spend the money that's in your account the longer it's sitting there. So they invoke all these rules and policies that you need to adhere to when it comes to trying to take any money out of the casino. In my opinion this only benefits one person the online casino operator. With land based casinos there's no problem taking your money out you simply get it when you want it no questions asked. This difference in the way things work to me is one of the biggest drawbacks to playing at an online casino. I suppose there's other reasons other the casino greed here such as the fact that it's difficult to get money into and out of the casino with the way things currently are with respect to payment processing, etc... in the gambling industry so as a result it would make sense that they want to try to keep the funds in the casino, but for players there are drawbacks. If you as a player could instantly withdrawal 200K after a big win you certainly would do that and without any question about it even if you were the most hardcore player (or so I think at least).

It's just one of those things that really aggravates me about playing at online casinos that they're so quick to take your money and get you on board for continued play though bonuses, loyalty rewards, etc... but when it comes to paying you out they don't do it with the same approach as they do when taking your money.

I guess in most respects I have to agree with you in regards to online casinos doing what ever they possibly can to keep your money in the casino. I think that land based casinos do this too to a certain extend in two ways:

1. Firstly they payout all winnings in chits that then need to go and be redeemed at a cashier. Which could ultimately lead to you walking by another slot, video poker, etc... tossing that chit in there and loosing all that money before you ever make it to the cashier... lol... it's happened to me on many occasions trust me it's designed this way for a reason.

2. If you try to cash out over a certain amount at a land based casino (ie. from a big win) or run on a table game and it exceeds 10K you can rest assured that the casino will be taking a percentage of your winnings for taxes which then in turn can really eat into your winnings. So in some regards being able to play online and not have to declare your winnings is a better situation to be in even if it does take you longer to make the withdrawal. All you need to do is really excessive some self control and try not to play it all back into the casino before you've managed to take out a significant amount!

That's just where my thoughts stand on the issue in general!

Even with drawbacks such as what you guys are talking about from my own personal experiences I would have to say that even in light of all this and the issues that surround playing at online casinos including that of delays and segmented withdrawals that it's still better to play at online casinos then land based casinos. For the most part people don't have access to land based casinos at their finger tips where as the beauty of online casinos lies in just that the ability to play without the need to ever hop on a plane and go anywhere. I myself know that I prefer playing online for the most part although there are certain benefits to playing in land based casinos I think that they're outweighed by the convenience of playing at online casinos by far!

I just play and don't really care to take money out of the casino. I just really enjoy the aspect of playing and the thrill of winning when I do win. I think that there are a lot of people like me out there actually!

It is pretty annoying how anal some online casinos can be about withdrawals and the whole verification process, blah, blah... I'm surprised at how easy it is (in some cases of course) to get money in but how difficult it can be to get it out. Playing at online casinos that offer larger withdrawal limits is key IMHO

Should just be a matter of you win you get what you win and end of story. None of these delays in getting your money. As the internet matures we find that people like things to happen instantly and casinos that don't grand players instantaneous withdrawals will go out of business if you ask me.

I don't think that what they're doing here is necessarily a ploy but as mentioned more a means to keep the casino safe from problems both with players and financially. I beleive that most of the online casinos out there these days do this and this isn't anything new. But even in land based casinos if you were to for example win say a 10 million dollar progressive in most cases they'll split that into annual payments broken out where the 10 million is divided by 25 or so and that amount is paid out to you year after year. So even land based casinos are doing this sort of thing.
