Online Casino Jackpots Affected by US Laws
The jackpots and more specifically progressive online casino jackpots that we're seeing at online casinos grow in general at a steady pace based on play though volume on progressive games. Providers like RTG do a good job in the way that they've implemented their progressives IMHO and thus as a result they're able to grow quite rapidly. Other providers have developed their progressive games in a similar way as well and kudos to those online casino software providers as I feel that they'll be some of the ones that will survive any kind of implementation of US law to enforce the UIGEA in the coming months. The fact of the matter is that a progressive online casino game without play is one that's not really going to grow at the increment that you'd expect it to grow at or to to be worth of play. Generally the larger progressives start accumulating at a faster and more reliable rate as everyone want's the big payout. This unfortunately is the hardest of the progressive games to win as these games have very large cycles and don't payout the big prize very often at all.
The point of my post though is to really emphasize the fact that with any laws that are passed we may see an impact on the incrementing of the progressive games that we're seeing and playing and the size of the progressive jackpots that can be won. It may not come to pass this way but it's definitely something to keep in mind and be aware of!

Not too much effect will be seen IMHO either. The industry will prosper and things will go on. It will be back to business as usual before you know it for those of you who are out there who may be experiencing problems right now. All these prohibitive actions and repercussioned with reactions from the gaming industry in their ability to find ways around it and proceed with business. Progressives may take a bit of a hit at first in terms of their growth but it's mostly the new players that aren't going to be able to contribute to the progressive prize pools so it's not that big of a deal I would say.

Nah... don't think there'll really be any affect on the size the progressives get up to. I think that we'll still be seeing progressives even on casino software providers that are operating mainly in the US that will reach into the million plus mark.

Progressives will continue to grow especially since a lot of the software providers have them setup in such a way where even if there isn't any play though on them that the tickers are constantly incrementing. It's a visual effect of casino games that entices players into wanting to play.

I'm personally hoping to see more of an increase to the speed at which progressive jackpots go up vs. down like is being suggested may very well happen. I really doubt that this would come to pass as such.
