I have been evaluating several online casino software platforms including that of Microgaming, Cryptologic, Playtech, Vegas Technology, Realtime Gaming, Rival, Wizard Gaming and a few other smaller software providers which aren't really relevant. My evaluation of these software platforms was mainly to conclude which of the online casino software providers out there offered the best graphics. In specific I mean graphics though not including animation and sound as these are completely independent in this evaluation and something I may post about in the future. Additionally when talking about graphics here in this post it's really pertaining to slots games and the graphics evaluated in this game type as I find that the graphics for most other games is pretty consistent among other software providers with the exception of blackjack which I feel that Microgaming does best in their Gold Series of blackjack game variants.

One thing that's encouraging with most of the software providers for which I evaluated the graphics for although may have had some pretty crummy graphics for their earlier games there has been a vast improvement since that time.

The following are my findings:

Microgaming Software - Although some of their most recent games have the most impressive graphics within their suite of casino games most of their older games also very nice graphics. One thing that I'm not to fond of with their software is that they use a lot of symbols not related to the theme of the slot game (ie. 7s, 10, Jack, Queen and King Symbols). I never really understood why software providers did this.

Cryptologic - I find the graphics in Cryptologic games to be fairly average with the exception of some of their most recent games that can be played in full screen mode that actually make use of the majority of the screen vs. their older games that use about 3/4 of the screen.

Playtech Software - Average graphics for their slots games although I really like the graphics in some of their newest games that they've been releasing.

Vegas Technology - Very simple graphics some of the worse graphics of all the online casino software providers out there. I really think that their symbols are overly simplified and really hold no substance.
Realtime Gaming - They offer a ton of slots games and what I've found with their slots is that most of their newer games don't use any Jack, Queen, King symbols so I'm keen on their graphics.

Rival - I think that they're graphics are some of the most poor graphics of any of the online casino software providers out there.

Wizard Gaming - Of all the software providers out there their graphics are the best offering the nicest designs and layouts for symbols in addition to some of the most interesting and unique themes that I've seen amongst other software providers platforms.

In terms of ordering of online casino software providers by the quality of their software I would have to go by the following order:

> Microgaming
> Wizard Gaming,
> Realtime Gaming
> Playtech
> Vegas Technology
> Rival

I definitely think that of the newer software providers Wizard Gaming has introduced a product from the get go that's near the quality of most of the Microgaming games and in some cases surpasses them. They just don't have enough games in their library at present to say that they're definitely better then Microgaming but I think that if Wizard Gaming lasts they'll surpass Microgaming in no time flat.

My personal favorites are Microgaming & Wizard Gaming followed by WagerWorks who haven't been listed here on the site. I think that their casinos although not graphically the best necessarily offer some of the best most common and reputable in land based casinos like Monopoly, Clue and a few other great games.

I like the graphics offered at casinos powered by several of the casino software providers that are being discussed in this article. I do think though that my favorite of the bunch has to be the new software provider Wizard Gaming their games are second to non if you ask me and their graphics are clean, sharp and use a good combination of colors.
