So we heard back from our Microgaming contacts and this is what they had to say about this:

The new “Summer Holiday” slot game had a few issues and they detected a bug in the game. So this is being worked on at the moment and from what I am told this will be rectified with the new game releases August 1st. The game works fine as is but due to the bug the expert mode and auto play feature was disabled for now.
