I've played at a few casinos online over the past several months and there's one thing that I'm really unclear on. What in the world is the purpose of the so called playthough or otherwise known as wagering requirements at online casinos?

Your post is very much warranted in that for the longest time I too was uncertain about the purpose of wagering requirements and exactly why they existed to begin with. After some inquiries and some research I did a while back I found out that the reason online casinos have wagering requirements is because they need to protect themselves from people who use bonuses to abuse the generosity of the online casino. There are many ways to abuse bonuses and players who do so are deterred from playing at casinos that have higher wagering requirements.

Essentially a wagering requirement is just a parameter that's used by the casino that requires that players wager either their bonus or their bonus and their deposit a certain number of times before being able to cashout any winnings that may be had at the casino.

Well that certainly clears it up for me as I thought maybe wagering requirements had something to do with payment to the actual software provider on each individual slot game. And I think it is amazing the differences in playthru you can find at each different casino. I saw one recently where you had to come up with half the amount of your withdrawal before withdrawing off a bonus. Whew thats sort of hitting below the money belt. i too am unsure about the wagering requirements!
after reading this page im still a wee bit confused, i signed up to 32vegas casion, i deposited £130, the gave me a bonus of 25% ive been playing the roulette!
i tried to withdraw some money when my balance got to £700, as i didnt understand the wagering thing, and got an email saying i hadnt met the requirements.
