I'm not sure how many of you have read about this yet but since this online casino portal seems to be very geared towards the US player in general it's news that may be of interest to you. Playtech has signed a deal with a gaming group in the USA called: Scientific Games Corporation which develops technology that's geared towards the regulation of the gaming market in the US. I'm sure that most of you who follow this stuff with regards to regulation in the US with respect to online gambling are aware that the wheels are currently in motion for the regulation of the industry. I beleive that we'll see something come to pass in this year (2010) and that full blown licensing and regulation of the online casino and gambling industry as a whole will likely take place in 2011. It's going to be a very exciting time for the online gambling industry I would say with an immense of change that will take place when the industry does become regulated.

When things such as alliances are formed between gaming companies like this in the US and reputable online casino & gambling companies like Playtech it's an obvious tell tale sign that things are happening and in some cases a very good sign that the wheels are truly in motion. Additionally often times these large corporations know a lot more about what's going on in terms of legislature then we do so it's good to look at this as a very positive thing that's going to be happening in this industry!

That's fantastic news... Hopefully we do see some sort of formalized regulation this year with the implementation of it at the latest next year. Our government here in the US is loosing so much that they could otherwise be benefiting from in terms of lost taxation dollars.

I for one do follow it all and am a firm beleive that we'll see something positive come out of many of the efforts that are currently being made to regulate this industry!

I think that regulation is actually going to be several years away as of yet. I really doubt that we'll see anything come about sooner then that. The reason I think that this is the way things will be is because of a few factors:

1. I think that the US is too involved in other things to bother with this.

2. Many states in the US don't agree with it.

3. Politicians in the US all have different agendas.

4. Implementing the regulation and enforcement of such regulation is still many many years away.

These are just my thoughts on this!

Although it would be nice to see some form of regulation come into play I agree with playtechfan with the points that were made on this!

Does seem very interesting. From my knowledge of how things work in the US all the states there are pretty segregated and thus as a result really means that it's going to be very difficult to get each and every state on board. I really don't see regulation happening fast and not any time in the very near future for that matter. Would certainly be ideal for all US players to play at properly licensed and managed online casinos but that isn't going to be how it is for quite some time now.

A lot of work needs to be done both politically and legally before we see anything formulate that would even mildly resemble full fledged regulation in the US. I'm a beleive like many of you in that it should really happen and will likely at some point in the future but I do beleive it's a ways off still.

In Playtech online casino alliance, there is something to do with it with the U.S. i think there are reasons why they get involve on this, its a matter of some projects that will made or hidden agendas.
