I heard a rumor that the Government in BC Canada is going to be regulating online casinos. I read this information online and I'm not really quite sure how reliable it actually is. Does anyone have any ideas whether this is true.

If it is true I'm happy for Canadians however to be quite honest though we here in the United States should be operating online casinos and other types of gaming in a regulated manner. It seems like the Canadians are ahead of us in this department. I also think though that BC is far more liberal which is potentially why their local government has decided to run the operations and regulate online casinos.

Does anyone have any other information about this that might be useful to understanding things a bit more?

Yeah I think it's definitely legitmate and think that they will in fact do this. It makes sense though.

That would be amazing if this happened as it would likely lead to the rest of Canada and other provinces in the country doing something similar to this. Then after hopefully the US would open it up which would undoubtedly lead to a heck of a lot of opportunities in the industry.

That would be really great if this went down! I think that America will shortly follow with a similar type of introduction of online gambling that's legalized but it will be more the private sector that pushes it.

I wasn't actually able myself to access the article on the Gambling Compliance website as it appears that you have to register and or pay to view the article. I was doing my own research. I think that the federal government may intervene here I'm not sure whether provinces in Canada have the authority to operate their own online gaming operations. Will be a great step forward for Canada and hopefully shortly there after the US will follow in their lead.

Hasn't happened yet from what I understand so don't imagine it's going to happen anytime soon. There's so much red tape it seems with this sort of stuff it's really unfortunate!

Would be great for Canada to take the lead here with this. I think that they would be one of the best sources and places for regulation of the internet gambling stuff to occur.

I live in Canada myself and beleive that if they were to properly regulate online casinos in Canada that it would be a great thing as the majority of the proceeds and money that are generated from gambling activity in Canada go directly to the social programs, etc... that we have here in this country which I beleive is fantastic.

Well that's nice to hear. There should be some sort of regulation really to further boost the industry and the economy as well. As of now it is a free for all situation.

Would really be superb if they were to do this. I beleive that the US or Canada will help start a trend here in terms of how the rest of the world will start looking at online gambling in general.

If this story got to be really establish in Canada, it would be much more useful if the other earnings of online casinos will be given to the other activities that will lessen the problems that they take for now.

It seems to be like that online casinos are now making their hype all over the world, as slowly every state is going to make it legal. Good for the casino player who are not playing till now for non availability of casinos near them.
