For the last four years it has been honoring the best in the industry through the EGR Awards. The fifth EGR Awards will be held in London on November 30. The 2009 EGR Awards will be held on the first evening of the EGR Live event. This year the awards have a new venue, which is London's Old Billingsgate. The 2008 EGR Awards were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel. The leading luminaries of the online gaming industry will grace the ceremony which is being billed as the Oscars of the online gaming industry. A gala dinner will be held alongside the awards ceremony. The awards are being sponsored by the leading online gaming software providers like Realtime Gaming, Playtech and Microgaming. Also on the sponsors list are electronic payment processors like Entropay and ClickandBuy. Awards will be given in 18 categories. The nominations have already been announced. In the Casino Operator of the Year the nominees are 32Red, 888, Betsson, Ladbrokes, PartyCasino and William Hill Online. In 2008 the award in this category had gone to 888. Awards will also be given to the best sports betting operator, poker operator, bingo operator, mobile gaming operator and live gaming operator. The most coveted award is for the Operator for the Year, which covers overall excellence in all online gaming products. The nominees in this category are 888, Bet365, Betclick, Betfair, Bwin, PartyGaming and William Hill Online. The online gaming industry thrives on innovations and there is an award for the Innovation of the year. Some of the nominees in this category are Buzzluck the new 3D online casino, Monopoly Snap a new game from Gamesys and Bingo Roulette a new game from Tombola. A popular category is the Online Marketing Campaign of the Year. A strong contender for this award is Ads Dot Com for their InterCasino campaign. InterCasino, the oldest online casino, now has a fresh new look and a host of new promotions. A new category this year is the Rising Star. The nominees are Amuso, Betboo, Chilli Poker, Gaming Media Group and Tower Torneos. Ladbrokes has the most number of nominations at seven. 888 is next with six and is followed by Betfair and Betsson with five each. PartyGaming, William Hill Online and Paddy Power have four nominations each. There are just two days to go before the suspense is over and the winners are announced. Whoever may win, the 2009 EGR Awards ceremony will be a win-win event for the entire online gaming industry.
